I love helping people and sharing the skills that I’m so passionate about, so teaching has been a natural and tremendously fulfilling path for me.
Meet
Carrie Miller
Carrie Miller is a textile artist based in Colorado. Her curiosity for materials and process are the products of an untamed childhood. Growing up on a farm, Carrie was constantly exposed to new life, death and whatever could be accomplished in between. Her time was split between adventures in horseback riding, backwoods archaeology, and whole days hunkered down behind her sewing machine. The rhythm of this lifestyle is still the driving force behind her enthusiasm for learning new techniques and manifesting her next creative project.
Carrie is an Adjunct Faculty of Fashion Design at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. She has also taught at Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado. She holds an MFA in Fibers from CSU and a BA from the Evergreen State College. Carrie spends her time sharing her passion through teaching, exhibiting textile art and designing botanically dyed fashion.
When she isn’t teaching or sewing, Carrie loves to take advantage of all the outdoor sports Colorado has to offer with her family and their dog Izzy.
