Raisa is a seasoned seamstress with over 17 years of experience, coming from a family of self-taught seamstresses and tailors. She was the first to receive formal training, graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. After working for brands like Forever 21 and Madewell, Raisa now serves as a lead tailor at RAGZ Designhouse and is opening her own studio, Raisa Studio.

Her love for sewing began as a child, and she made her first garment for her senior prom with her grandmother’s help. With five years of teaching experience in cities like Washington, D.C., and Houston, Raisa brings a visual, hands-on approach to her classes, encouraging students to be fearless and open-minded. In her free time, she enjoys estate sales, meditating, and reading.
